Sunset Zipline Adventure in Maui
Fun, exhilarating, beautiful are all words to describe my sunset zipline with Kapalua Ziplines. If you have always wanted to zipline, Maui is the place to do it. The aerial views are spectacular with a beautiful backdrop of the sun setting over the ocean. Start your sunset zipline tour at the top of Kapalua Mountain where you will experience an unforgettable adventure and that sweet adrenaline above the breathtaking landscape.
Kapalua Ziplines is located right by Ritz Carlton with views next to beautiful golf courses. It is right past the Sansei restaurant and there is a free parking lot right in front. We opted for the sunset tour with three zip lines. We met at 4:30pm, signed waiver forms, got weighed in, and got a cool clip to hold a complimentary water bottle. Just a note, guests must weigh between 60 and 250 pounds in order to ride and weigh-ins are mandatory!
After signing everyone in, we took a bumpy adventure on the van up the mountains with beautiful landscape views. Brandon was our guide and was funny, witty, and informative. They were kind enough to let me bring my DSLR camera and GoPro to take shots for Cam Chowda. When we got to the top, all the rules and proper forms to zipline were explained thoroughly and we received our gear.
This was my third time ziplining and Kapalua Ziplines has the best gear. They provide a swing harness which is very comfortable and sturdy and you get to hold onto the handle as an option to feel more steady. For you daredevils, put your hands in the air!
We had 10 people in our group which was small and intimate and made the wait for the rides quick since two people can zipline side-by-side. The zips can go as fast as 50mph and the views were amazing! I felt like I was flying through paradise and the unique and glorious views were memorable.
Thumbs up for adventure! Throughout the trip, they will take fun photos of you as you get ready to take off on the zipline.
Don’t forget to look back and smile for the camera!
If you’re not scared, don’t forget to look down to see just how far up you are. Each line provided different views, speeds, and experiences. You’ll soar through with views of the lush tropical forests high up along with ocean views as the sun is setting.
This is the Kapalua Bridge at 1600 feet in elevation above the northwest Maui coastline, truly amazing.
Don’t forget to admire the sunset views overlooking the ocean!
What to bring:
– Comfortable walking shoes and clothes
– sunglasses, SPF
– Cameras / Go Pros
– Dress a little warmer as it can get windy up there
You can receive all the photos on a usb stick for $30 and a t-shirt, definitely a great memory if it is your first time and do not want to worry about carrying a camera. Kapalua Ziplines also offers 7 line zip tours and regular 4 line zip tours. I recommend doing the 7 zip line tour if you have the time to fit into the itinerary to keep that adrenaline longer! Overall, Kapalua Ziplines provides great solid service and the views are priceless.
