Where to stay in Santorini, Greece
Breathtaking, picturesque, unreal are all words I can describe during my stay at Ifestio Villas in Oia, Santorini. When visiting paradise in Santorini, you want to make sure you get to soak in the true magic of the island with its great views. Stay in Oia on the north coast for one of the most spectacular views and sunset. There are other towns like Fira and Imerovigli, but you can’t beat Oia’s white marbled streets and beautiful sunsets. Ifestio villas is an incredibly special and unique boutique villa that offers a charming cave suite, each with a private patio overlooking the white washed villas of Oia out into the deep blue sea. Staying at Ifestio Villas not only exceeded my expectations but Katerina is truly one of the sweetest hosts who will welcome you into her arms like family. It is worth staying in Oia to truly experience its beauty in the heart of the villas.
We stayed in the Villa Paride which has a private balcony and breathtaking volcano views, it was picture perfect. Ifestio villas is prime location near the ocean shore, we were absolutely blown away by how charming, beautiful, and welcoming this true cave villa was. Ifestio villas offers three different villas: Villa Paride, Villa Hercules, Villa Agis. We got in late at night and yet Katerina made sure we had a driver meet us at the airport. Once we arrived at Oia, she greeted us immediately with warm hugs and had our luggage transported to our room while she guided us with brief tour and then straight to our rooms because she could tell we were tired from a long flight. However, before she left, Katerina showed us where she lived and made sure to let us know that she could be contacted for any reason. Right away you could tell Katerina was a gem.
It is breathtaking and astounding just how beautiful the view from your villa is, this view is truly priceless. It is worth waking up early to enjoy the sunrise out on the balcony while enjoying a little breakfast.
The villa itself is very spacious where you can sleep up to 6 people. It has a dining area, two couches, a bedroom, a balcony, and a bathroom. Everything is white and blue to match the beautiful colors of Santorini and it just makes for a very memorable stay.
The spacious interior decor is decked out in white and dark navy blue, it was absolutely charming straight out of a rustic interior home design magazine.
There is a cute kitchen area with everything you need ranging from a mini stove, coffee maker, George Foreman grill, pots/pans, and utensils/plates.
There is also coffee, an assortment of teas, and olive oil available in the cabinet.
Katerina pulls out all the stops and she made sure our kitchen was stocked with food and drinks so that we would never go hungry during our stay. She provided wheat bread, meats, and cheese, butter, and jam. She also stocked our refrigerator with bottles of wine, champagne, water, juice, and milk! Trust me, this will make you feel like royalty the way Katerina makes sure you have everything so you don’t need to lift a finger. We could easily prepare breakfast at our own comfort while enjoying the beautiful patio views. Be sure to make some sandwiches with the george foreman grill, simple and delicious!
Her staff (Matilda) cleaned our room, provided new fresh towels, washed our dishes, and even put our opened cheese/ham into containers to maintain it. Katerina also provides a cell phone in the drawer under the TV that you can use to call her for any questions but honestly we never had to use it because Katerina makes sure your villa is picture perfect. They also offer free laundry service, these type of hands on services are not typically offered at any standard hotel.
The bathroom continues its beautiful white and blue theme. Toiletries and fresh towels are provided and a blow dryer. Just a note, Santorini is still a very small island so it is highly advised not to throw toilet paper into the toilets.
The actual bedroom is cozy with a beautiful ocean view. You are provided two cozy blue robes to lounge around on the patio. There is also some closet space and a safety box available in the room.
The best part of the villa is truly the view. Once you step out on the balcony with the cute blue table setting, you’ll see the Caldera volcano sitting in the vast deep ocean and the rest of the island as far as the eye can see.
The location of the ifestio villas were very convenient, just a few steps away from all the restaurants and cute little boutique shops. There is a close market to pick up any necessities. It is also a quick 10 minute walk to where everyone watches the epic sunsets in Oia.
The views are absolutely breathtaking and you truly felt like you were on vacation! Enjoying your glass of wine is just about as good as it gets. I would say it is worth staying at Ifestio Villas for the gorgeous view alone!
Truly one of the highlights of our stay in Oia, Santorini.
I have stayed at many different hotels internationally and no service beats Katarina’s great services with her sweet and warm personality. She goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and at home, and we definitely did! Katerina is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She treats you like family from the first email to the last good-bye which really isn’t a good-bye because you’ll want to come back for sure! She is like your best Greek friend and will be able to point you to the best restaurants, tours, etc. Plus, she will book it all for you so you never have to do anything but just relax and enjoy Santorini. She truly knows everything but if you ever need any other information, you can find it in the handy binder she keeps in the room. I would whole-heartedly recommend Ifestio Villas and Katerina to anyone. You have to stay here and you will not be disappointed at all. Romantic, magical, picturesque are just some ways to describe your time here. Truly amazing and the best stay we’ve ever had.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Katerina!
